Nowruz
The Persian New Year: on the homepage, a tiled pavilion of three arches in turquoise and cobalt glaze with your prizes set on glazed medallions in its niches, and the haft-sin laid out before it on a termeh cloth — sabzeh tied with a red ribbon, a goldfish bowl, the mirror with three painted eggs between two candles, a hyacinth, an apple and gold coins. A countdown to the very minute of Sal-e Tahvil, the March equinox, in the two weeks before it, worked out for every year in your own time zone, and a Nowruz Mobarak greeting through the thirteen days to Sizdah Bedar. Glazed white and spring light by day; after dark the table at the moment of the new year, lapis night lit by the candles. A goldfish bowl with the fish gone for the 404, the haft-sin on the edge of the cloth along the footer, and a pattern of glazed tiles that lays itself across the screen for the dark/light switch. Full right-to-left support. Use it all year: outside the season it is simply a shop under tiled arches.
