Neon City

A rain-slicked city street at night, lit by neon: on the homepage, a street-corner vending wall in a chrome cabinet where each of your live prizes glows behind its own lit window, a magenta, cyan or acid-lime tube round the glass and its name on an LED strip beneath, the whole wall reflected in the wet asphalt at its feet. When the page opens the signs flicker on one by one and buzz into full glow. Hot magenta, cyan and acid lime on deep blue-black at night, the default; by day the same street at dawn, concrete and a pastel sky, chrome in the morning light and the tubes unlit, the signs painted on. A scoreboard of LED digits above the street for the winners, a prepaid city pass with a holographic foil stripe for the wallet, a neon 404 whose zero keeps flickering out, a vending window for every prize you have won, and a power surge for the dark/light switch: a spark runs along a cable across the screen, the neon blows out to white-hot, and the signs buzz back on in the new mode. Every other page of the shop is built from the same street — bent-glass tubes with a soft halo, LED price boards, chrome bezels, roll-down shutters, holographic stickers and scan lines — with a small neon drawing on every empty or waiting screen, from an empty vending slot to a parking meter run out. For stores selling electronics, gaming gear, gadgets and prizes to a young crowd, all year round.
