New Year's Eve
The last night of the year: on the homepage, fireworks burst over a city skyline with its windows lit, a split-flap board counts down to midnight and your prizes are golden tickets, each one an invitation to the party. The countdown runs in the days before 31 December midnight, to the shop's midnight or to each visitor's own, and on New Year's Day the board turns over to the new year with a greeting. Midnight ink and gold foil by night, an ivory morning after with confetti still falling by day, with engraved small-caps lettering, the city along the footer and a rocket launched from the switch that bursts and floods the screen for the dark/light change. Use it all year: outside the season it is simply a midnight-and-gold shop.
