Onam

Your shop dressed for Onam, Kerala's harvest festival, ten days from Atham to Thiruvonam. The whole look is a pookalam laid on kasavu cloth: cream with a woven gold border along every edge that matters, banana-leaf green for what you press and the pookalam's flowers for colour. On the homepage a flower carpet fills the hero with three of your live prizes laid as petals at its centre, and when the page opens it lays itself ring by ring from the centre outwards, each ring a different flower. Two weeks before Atham a swing hangs over it with the countdown to Thiruvonam on its plank; through the ten days the carpet gains a ring each day, the real day of the festival in the kicker; and on Thiruvonam the plank says "Happy Onam" and each visitor is greeted once with the theme's own swing. The rest of the year the pookalam is complete and the theme is simply a warm, festive shop with no dates. Kurale for headings and prices, Manjari for reading. A sadya on a banana leaf for the winners, a kasavu purse for the wallet, a palm grove with a swing and brass lamps along the footer, "A petal is missing from this pookalam" for a missing page, a shower of petals when you add to the cart or bid, and a dark/light switch where a swing sweeps across the page on long ropes, laying a palm grove at dusk behind it, and swings back onto the other mode. After dark it is the evening after the feast: palm-green night with the gold catching the lamplight and the flowers glowing. The dates (from a Kerala calendar table through 2036), the festival's name and an off switch live on the theme's own admin page.
