Singles' Day

Your shop dressed for 11.11, Singles' Day, the biggest day of the year for treating yourself. The whole look is built from one numeral: on the homepage four giant 1s stand side by side like tall shop windows, each holding one of your live prizes, and when the page opens they drop into place one after another and light up from the floor. Before the day a split-flap board counts down to midnight on the 11th; through the warm-up from 1 November it keeps counting, the last day dropping to hours and minutes; and on the day itself the hero reads "It's 11.11", greets each visitor once with the theme's own flap-board moment and counts down to the sale's last second. The rest of the year it is simply a bright, confident shop with no dates. Hot coral for what sells, deep plum for the ink, white for the floor and one acid lime kept for the 11; tall condensed numerals for headlines and every price, a clean sans for reading. Split-flap cells for countdowns, a receipt for the winners, a tall price tag for every prize you win, "Page 404 is sold out" for a missing page, a 1 that drops into the button when you add to the cart or bid, and a dark/light switch where four tall flap cells swing shut over the page, each carrying a 1, and fall open on the other mode. After dark it is midnight on the 11th: plum-black with the four 1s glowing. The dates, the sale's name and an off switch live on the theme's own admin page.
